Joseph Kreutzer, Francesco Molino, Wenceslau Matiegka, Anton Bernhard Furstenau, Niccolo Paganini, Leo Brower, Anton Diabelli, Leonardo deCall, Gerardo Guevara, Fritz Skorzeny, M.E. Apostel, composers from different countries writing for the same kind of chamber music combination.
Although more than 150 years are gone since the first works were written, this extraordinary combination, flute, viola and guitar, still cause surprise, but they are nothing more than the most common instrumental combination ever seen in the music history - a solo instrument, an harmonic base and a support voice.
The fact that the flute and the viola work very close, a rich dialogue of contrapuntal solutions is offered, different from the traditional trios where a violin or a flute always do the solo part and the cello just plays the bass. In the flute, viola and guitar trio, the flute and the viola exchange the solo parts, as well the bass, presenting a great variation of timbre and color, making the music much more agreeable and interesting.
Another factor that has contributed a lot for the happy combination of these instruments, was the fact that almost all the musics were written by the musicians, masters of their instruments, and for this reason they were able to explore all the harmonic, soloist and above all, the sonorous capacities of each instrument and their combination.
